Jose Mari Chan's Message to Sister Vicky

Jose Mari Chan's Message to Sister Vicky

The concert fever is on. Tomorrow, Jose Mari Chan will be here at Cagayan de Oro. Fr. Arnel, SSS and the LITES team will be there at the Laguindingan Airport to meet Joe upon his arrival. There will be 'media mileage' so Fr. Joel, SSS the parish priest of Santuario Eucharistico will also be there to assist Mr. Chan.

It is now the 'last minute' phase of the preparation but still, there are so many things left to be attended. Problems, as usual, has been arising here and there. But for us, amateurs, it become a test of wit and spirituality. No problem has been too big nor small for the LITES team to solve. As long as we were together in communion-- problems, with our heads together become easier to deal with. Solutions always come with our newly discovered creativity.

This week is quite different. Pressure is really rising. Tension had tested the dedication of each LITES member. Most of the LITES team member are already 'retired' from their profession, but their age did not stop them to dream 'big.' They offered freely their selves and has been so generous to support the Eucharistic mission of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament.

In this concert project, their advanced age become their most important asset. Experience has lead them to plan ahead. Experience has lead them to establish connections. Each of them, with their own different experiences, played a vital role in this transcending TEAM BUILDING EXPERIENCE. Together, they had gone beyond their individual capacities and realized vividly what teamwork could do.

Tomorrow will be another day. At the venue at Limketkai, the stage is still about to be prepared. There will be many groups tomorrow who will be working for the sounds, lights, stage, and much more to the security of the place. Yes, this is Mindanao, but more than that, this is Cagayan de Oro... it is the city of the golden friendship.

There were so many callers requesting for ticket reservations. There were so many letters of requests to be written and to be delivered... there are so many demands from the event organizer. All of us were like busy ants doing our best to make this event an extra-special one. There were so many unaccomplished tasks waiting to be done. If we could only make the night like the day, we will never sleep just to make sure that everything will be prepared before the concert.

We admit, that at the back of our mind, we are all trembling. All of us were so worried. All of us feel the pressure. We already did our best but we still feel that we should still do more and exert more.

Jose Mari Chan texted Sister Vicky. He confirmed his arrival this Saturday. He asked about the development of the concert. He felt instantly the pressure that burdens Sister Vicky. Joe messaged him, "Don't be afraid, God will never fail us."

Sister Vicky shared the message to all of us. We all smile and thank God for this wonderful person.

"God will never fail us..." this becomes our thought for the day. den mar
