Liturgy: the Public Worship of the People

just gave a talk about the liturgy and still reflecting on this:
On LITURGY from the CONSTITUTION ON THE SACRED LITURGY
SACROSANCTUM CONCILIUM #37:
Norms for adapting the Liturgy to the culture and traditions of peoples

37. Even in the liturgy, THE CHURCH HAS NO WISH TO IMPOSE A RIGID UNIFORMITY IN MATTERS WHICH DO NOT IMPLICATE THE FAITH OR THE GOOD OF THE WHOLE COMMUNITY; rather does she respect and foster the genius and talents of the various races and peoples. Anything in these peoples' way of life which is not indissolubly bound up with superstition and error she studies with sympathy and, if possible, preserves intact. Sometimes in fact she admits such things into the liturgy itself, so long as they harmonize with its true and authentic spirit.

>the liturgy is the work of the people, it is the public worship of the people centered on Jesus Christ. all ministries in the church is important, no ministry is above the others. the youth of the church--their ministries and organizations must be taken cared of by the older members of the church for they will be the next generation of the church. the old generations should be the model of compassion and love. as members of the assembly of God, we also need to share some of the responsibilities of the priest but we should not go beyond to the point of taking the priest's place. 'tapusin na natin ang panahon na ginagawang panakot ang pari sa mga bata.' Jesus loves the children and we, the old generations, by doing this, separates the youths from the church. let us always remember that the meaning of all these ministries inside the church is 'servanthood.'
>all of us, perhaps have an idea about the norms happening inside the liturgy. we can search most of the materials from the internet, but what divides us is not our overwhelming knowledge about the liturgy but the emptiness of our hearts to respect and appreciate the works of one another. the center of the liturgy is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is love. how come that some of these lowly servants are being persecuted while they are serving in the liturgy inside the mass? perhaps, the perfection of the liturgy is in the disposition of our hearts to accept Jesus Christ and to appreciate the works of these poor people serving God... 'the Church has no wish to impose a rigid uniformity in matters which do not implicate the faith or the good of the whole community (SC#37).' God bless. denmar
